Connect Lightspeed R-Series
Authorize your Lightspeed Retail R-Series account and understand exactly what access Syncwright needs.
Syncwright connects to Lightspeed Retail R-Series so it can read your inventory and catalog and record online orders back as sales.
Authorize your account
- In Syncwright, open Connections and choose Connect Lightspeed.
- You are sent to Lightspeed’s secure sign-in. Log in with an account that has admin rights.
- Review the access Syncwright requests, then approve.
- Pick the Lightspeed shop you want to sync.
You are returned to Syncwright with Lightspeed showing as connected.
Syncwright uses Lightspeed’s official authorization. Your Lightspeed password is never shared with Syncwright, and you can revoke access from your Lightspeed account at any time.
What access it needs, and why
- Read inventory so it can push accurate on-hand counts to Shopify.
- Read catalog (items, categories, brands, images) to build and maintain your Shopify products.
- Write sales so Shopify orders can be recorded in Lightspeed.
Syncwright requests only what it needs to keep the two systems in step.
About R-Series and webhooks
Lightspeed R-Series does not offer webhooks, so it cannot notify Syncwright the instant something changes. Syncwright handles this by polling on a delta cadence and running a scheduled reconciliation pass, so a missed change corrects itself. There is more detail in Inventory and no overselling.
Rate limits
R-Series enforces API rate limits. Syncwright paces its requests to stay within them, which is why a very large first import can take a little longer to fully populate. Ongoing syncs are incremental and fast.
Fixing a connection problem
- “Insufficient permissions”: sign in again with a Lightspeed admin account.
- Wrong shop selected: disconnect and reconnect, then choose the correct shop.
