Syncwright

// The feature tour

Accuracy first.
Then a catalog that sells.

Every sync tool promises to move numbers around. Syncwright does that flawlessly and then keeps going, cleaning up the catalog quality that turns your online store from a mirror of your stockroom into a storefront that converts.

// The core

The accuracy nobody sees, working every minute.

This is the foundation. It has to be perfect before anything else matters, so it is.

→ 0 conflicts

No overselling

Lightspeed is the source of truth for inventory. Syncwright pushes accurate on-hand counts to Shopify continuously, so you never sell stock you already sold in-store.

→ upc = barcode

Barcode-accurate matching

Items match on UPC to Shopify barcode, with a manufacturer-SKU fallback and an ambiguity guard. No blind SKU guessing, no duplicate listings.

→ self-heals every tick

Reconciliation safety net

R-Series has no webhooks, so Syncwright polls on a delta cadence and reconciles on a schedule. A missed change corrects itself, quantities never quietly drift.

→ blank-safe merge

Field-level sync policy

Set every field to ignore, fill if empty, or overwrite. A blank value in Lightspeed never wipes good Shopify content, so your descriptions and photos are safe.

→ web order = POS sale

Orders back to Lightspeed

Shopify orders are recorded in Lightspeed as sales, so your point of sale stays the single system of record for stock and reporting.

→ category → collection

Smart collections, built for you

Syncwright reads your Lightspeed category and brand tree and proposes Shopify smart collections you approve, with an optional hide-out-of-stock rule per collection.

→ sourced · cleaned · sized

AI image enrichment

Blank product? Syncwright sources a real image, cleans the background to white, crops and upscales, and waits for your approval before it ever touches Shopify.

→ 6 items → 1 product

Variant grouping

Lightspeed stores each size and color as its own item. Syncwright detects the family and proposes one Shopify product with variants, you approve before anything writes.

→ link, not re-import

Switcher reconciliation

Coming from Mortar or another connector? Syncwright links your existing Shopify catalog to Lightspeed by barcode instead of importing a second copy of every product.

→ hold back the last one

Inventory buffers

Keep a safety margin per item so the floor model or the last unit on the shelf never sells online while someone is holding it at the register.

→ flagged, not silent

Alerts and needs-attention

When something cannot sync cleanly, Syncwright emails you and files it in a needs-attention list with a plain-language reason. No silent drift, ever.

→ always current

Updates included

Syncwright is hosted, so every store runs the latest version automatically. New features ship to you the day they ship at all, at no extra cost.

// Image enrichment

Turn blank products into a catalog worth browsing.

Point-of-sale catalogs are full of items with no photo and a cryptic title. Syncwright sources a real product image, cleans the background to white, crops and upscales it, and gives it an SEO-friendly filename. Nothing publishes until you approve it.

// Variant grouping

Separate register items become one Shopify product.

Lightspeed stores every size and color as its own item. Dropped into Shopify raw, that is a wall of near-duplicate listings. Syncwright detects the family, proposes a single product with proper variants, and lets you confirm before a thing is written. Shoppers get one clean product page with a size and color picker.

→ 6 items → 1 product · review-first

// Smart collections

Your category tree, rebuilt as collections that merchandise themselves.

Syncwright reads your Lightspeed category and brand structure and proposes matching Shopify smart collections. Approve the ones you want and they stay populated automatically as products come and go. Turn on hide-when-sold-out per collection so the grid never shows a shopper something they cannot buy.

// Field-level sync policy

You decide, field by field, who wins.

Not every field should behave the same way. Syncwright lets you set each one to ignore, fill-if-empty, or overwrite. And it is blank-safe by default: an empty value in the register will never blank out a field you filled in Shopify.

Field Policy What happens
Product title Fill if empty Register title used only when Shopify is blank
Description Ignore Your Shopify copy is never touched
Images Ignore Merchandising stays yours; enrichment is opt-in
On-hand quantity Overwrite Lightspeed is the source of truth
Barcode / UPC Match key Used to link items, never overwritten blindly

→ blank-safe: a blank register value never overwrites a filled Shopify field

// Proactive alerts

Problems find you, not the other way around.

When a match is ambiguous, a rate limit bites, or a field looks wrong, Syncwright does not fail quietly. It surfaces a plain-language alert and adds the item to a needs-attention list you can clear in a few clicks.

needs attention · duplicate barcode on 2 items
resolved · rate limit backed off, retried ok
needs attention · price missing on 3 new items

// Inventory buffers

Hold back a little. Sell with confidence.

Set a safety-stock buffer and Syncwright publishes the buffered number to Shopify, keeping a cushion for floor sales, layaways, and counts that are a touch behind. It is the simplest way to guarantee the last one on the shelf is never the one that oversells online.
