No overselling. Lightspeed is the source of truth. Online stock follows in-store reality.
Pay once, own it. One price, one invoice. Updates and support included, no renewal.
Catalog that sells. Real images, grouped variants, and smart collections, done for you.
// The problem
The register knows the truth.
Your website is guessing.
Someone buys the last one on the floor at 2pm. At 2:40 it sells again online. Now you are writing an apology email, refunding a sale you already celebrated, and hoping they do not mention it in a review. Every retailer running a register and a website has lived this.
The connectors that fix it come with their own catch: a monthly bill that scales with your locations and never, ever ends. Rent, for plumbing.
Sold twice
One unit, two happy customers, one refund coming.
Quiet drift
Counts that slip a little every week until nothing matches.
The forever bill
Per-location pricing that grows every time you do.
Syncwright
Accurate counts, a catalog that sells, one payment.
// Why we built it
We built this for a shop we already worked with.
Outside Projects is an ecommerce agency. We run ads, email, and SEO for retailers, and one of them is a bike shop that lives on Lightspeed Retail. Their problem was simple to say and expensive to have: the register knew the truth about stock, the website did not, and every mismatch was either a lost sale or an apology email.
We went shopping for a connector and did not like what we found. The good ones bill monthly, per location, forever. Most of them move numbers but leave the catalog looking like a stockroom export: no photos, one listing per size, nothing organized. And when something broke, the answer was a ticket queue.
So we built our own. Accurate first, then obsessed with how the catalog actually looks online, because that is the part that sells. It ran quietly for real stores before we ever gave it a name. Now it is a product: buy it once, we keep it updated, and when you email support you get the people who wrote it.
// For bike shops
Born in a bike shop.
At home in any store.
Syncwright was built inside a working bike shop, and the team behind it runs marketing for cycling brands like Attaquer, Kogel, and Sundays Cycles. So the quirks of a bike floor are home turf: one jersey living as six register items, special orders, seasonal stock swings, and a catalog where half the products came from a distributor feed with no photos. If you run a shop on Lightspeed R-Series, Syncwright already speaks your language.
Not a bike shop? Everything works exactly the same for any retailer on Lightspeed R-Series, from run specialty to toy stores to wine.

Distributor-feed catalogs
Blank images and thin titles get sourced, cleaned, and standardized.
The floor stays honest
The last size medium sells once, on the floor or online, never both.
Marketing on tap
The same team runs ads, email, and SEO for cycling brands every day.

→ in step
Stay in step, automatically
Sell in-store or online, inventory, catalog, and orders stay accurate in both systems. Syncwright reconciles in the background and flags anything that needs you.
// What you get
Accuracy first. Then a catalog that actually converts.
No overselling
→ 0 conflictsLightspeed is the source of truth for inventory. Syncwright pushes accurate on-hand counts to Shopify continuously, so you never sell stock you already sold in-store.
Barcode-accurate matching
→ upc = barcodeItems match on UPC to Shopify barcode, with a manufacturer-SKU fallback and an ambiguity guard. No blind SKU guessing, no duplicate listings.
Reconciliation safety net
→ self-heals every tickR-Series has no webhooks, so Syncwright polls on a delta cadence and reconciles on a schedule. A missed change corrects itself, quantities never quietly drift.
Field-level sync policy
→ blank-safe mergeSet every field to ignore, fill if empty, or overwrite. A blank value in Lightspeed never wipes good Shopify content, so your descriptions and photos are safe.
Orders back to Lightspeed
→ web order = POS saleShopify orders are recorded in Lightspeed as sales, so your point of sale stays the single system of record for stock and reporting.
Smart collections, built for you
→ category → collectionSyncwright reads your Lightspeed category and brand tree and proposes Shopify smart collections you approve, with an optional hide-out-of-stock rule per collection.
AI image enrichment
→ sourced · cleaned · sizedBlank product? Syncwright sources a real image, cleans the background to white, crops and upscales, and waits for your approval before it ever touches Shopify.
Variant grouping
→ 6 items → 1 productLightspeed stores each size and color as its own item. Syncwright detects the family and proposes one Shopify product with variants, you approve before anything writes.
Switcher reconciliation
→ link, not re-importComing from Mortar or another connector? Syncwright links your existing Shopify catalog to Lightspeed by barcode instead of importing a second copy of every product.
// The moat
Your POS has blank products.
We fix that.
Most point-of-sale catalogs have no product photos and thin descriptions. Syncwright sources a real image, cleans the background to white, sizes it for Shopify, and waits for your approval. Grouping and smart collections come along for free.

Need help with your Shopify store? That is our day job.
Syncwright comes from Outside Projects, an ecommerce agency that runs Shopify stores every day: paid ads, email, SEO, merchandising, and theme work for brands like Attaquer, Kogel, and Dana Wharf. Get in sync first. When you want the whole storefront working harder, the same team is one email away.
And if Outside Projects already runs your marketing, Syncwright is free. Clients get the app included for as long as we work together.

What does Syncwright cost? +
$999, once. That covers every register and location, every update we ever ship, and email support from the team that built it. There is no subscription and no renewal. Image enrichment is the only metered feature: your first 50 images are free, then $0.35 per sourced-and-cleaned image, only when you choose to run it.
How do I install it? +
Syncwright installs as a private app built for your store. Tell us your store address and your Lightspeed setup on the get-started form, and we email you a secure install link, usually the same day. You install it from that link like any Shopify app, connect Lightspeed, and run the guided setup.
Why is there no subscription? +
Because a sync tool is plumbing, and you should not rent plumbing forever. Syncwright is efficient to run, the one metered feature (image enrichment) pays its own way, and we would rather have a customer for ten years than an invoice every month. Updates and support are included in the one price.
Which Lightspeed does Syncwright support? +
Lightspeed Retail R-Series. Syncwright is built around R-Series specifics, its rate limits, its lack of webhooks, and its data model, rather than a one-size-fits-all bridge. X-Series support is on the roadmap.
How does it prevent overselling? +
Lightspeed is the source of truth for inventory. Syncwright pushes accurate on-hand counts to Shopify continuously and reconciles on a schedule, so an in-store sale is reflected online before the item can be oversold. Inventory buffers can hold back the last unit or two as extra insurance.
Will it create duplicate products? +
No. Items match on UPC to Shopify barcode with a manufacturer-SKU fallback and an ambiguity guard. If you are migrating from another tool, switcher reconciliation links your existing catalog instead of re-importing it.
What about updates after I buy? +
They are included, forever. Syncwright is hosted, so every store always runs the latest version automatically. When we ship a new feature, you have it the same day, with nothing to reinstall and nothing extra to pay.
Is it really free for Outside Projects clients? +
Yes. If Outside Projects runs your ads, email, or SEO, Syncwright is included with your engagement at no charge for as long as we work together.
Is my catalog going to look better after this? +
That is the point. Syncwright can source and clean product images, group variants, and build collections, and if you want a full merchandising pass, the Outside Projects team can take it from there.
